Denver Broncos select Wisconsin DL Matt Henningsen in round 6 of 2022 NFL draft
Another Wisconsin Badger is off the board on Saturday. With the No. 206 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos selected Badger defensive lineman Matt Henningsen.
Henningsen joins Russell Wilson and Melvin Gordon as former Badgers on the Broncos. The Badger State native spent four seasons at Wisconsin, and finished with 8.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss throughout his Badger career.
As a senior in 2021, Henningsen was named as a William V. Campbell Trophy semifinalist. He is a four-time Academic All-Big Ten performer who excelled in the classroom as an electrical engineering major. The Broncos-Badgers connection continued to strengthen on Saturday:
