Dennis Allen issues statement on Saints TE Jimmy Graham after health scare

New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham was briefly hospitalized over the weekend with what team doctors believe to be a seizure, and though he was able to join his teammates for Sunday night’s preseason game with the Los Angeles Chargers he did not participate in the matchup.

After the game, Saints head coach Dennis Allen spoke with the media and shared an update on Graham’s status.

Allen short on details but emphasized that Graham’s health is their top priority: “Jimmy’s with us, he’s healthy, he has more testing to go through. He’s a little shook up but overall he’s doing okay.”

Graham, 36, was taken into policy custody after being seen behaving erratically and walking into traffic on Friday evening. We’ll have to wait and see whether this could become a recurring health issue for him or if it will impact his status with the team, but it’s a good sign that Graham was able to return to the squad and some sense of normalcy. Keep an eye out for more information in the days ahead.
