Who is the Gainesville-area's Athlete of the Week winner for January 29-February 4?

PK Yonge Girls Soccer knows how to win in more ways than one.

On the field, the Blue Wave orchestrated another successful season and hope to finally go over the hump and advance to states.

For the Athlete of the Week poll, PK fans showed out big time.

A Blue Wave soccer player won the Athlete of the Week for the second straight week. Last week, Faith Hardy took the crown.

This week, it is Norah Pancoast, winner for January 29-February 4.

The Blue Wave goalie pitched a shutout in their 5-0 district title win over Keystone Heights last Tuesday, January 30.

This week, she carried it over once again with an 8-0 win over KH again in the Class 3A-Region 1 Quarterfinals. Top-seeded PK takes the pitch again Friday night in the regional semifinals vs No. 4 seed Maclay (Tallahassee).

Out of an astonishing 54,998 votes, Pancoast received over 18,100 votes. She finished over 5,300 votes above second place finisher - Union County Girls Weightlifter Alexia Cyr.
