Little did you know that the Iowa offense was actually the direct inspiration for that iconic Cheez-It commercial.

Yes, it was a grind. It wasn’t pretty, or a perfectly enjoyable win, but tomorrow we can all wake up feeling the cheesiest coach! Iowa football has won!

Was the passing attack good? Nope, not at all. Was it a fun game to get through? Not really. But it was a win, and a win is a win is a win nonetheless. See, Kirk Ferentz and Iowa football have limited my vocabulary to coach speak and old-school cliches.

In front of a homecoming crowd at Kinnick Stadium, the Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the Purdue Boilermakers, 20-14. If you’ve seen one Iowa football win, you’ve pretty much seen them all. This one was no different. The passing attack was atrocious.

Meanwhile, Kaleb Johnson broke off some big runs and Phil Parker’s defense was their dominant, usual selves. Cooper DeJean was the big man in the secondary, adding another massive interception and 41-yard runback to his resume.
