Darius Bazley, a former Princeton High School standout, agreed to a one-year contract with the Brooklyn Nets, according to a report Friday night from ESPN.com's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Wojnarowski cited Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul and agent Brandon Cavanaugh.

Bazley, a free agent who turned 23 in June, played in seven games for Phoenix last season after the Suns acquired him in February for Dario Saric and a 2029 draft pick. He averaged 9.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in parts of four seasons for the Oklahoma City Thunder, including a career-best 13.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game during the 2020-21 season.

Bazley was the 23rd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He and former Moeller High School standout Jaxson Hayes, selected 15 picks earlier at No. 8, became the first two former Greater Cincinnati high school players selected in the first round of the same draft.

Hayes agreed earlier this month to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Nets reportedly are expected to waive former Xavier Musketeers standout Edmond Sumner, who averaged 7.1 points per game in 53 games for Brooklyn last season.
