'Dammit. So close'. Busch, Logano, Chastain, other NASCAR stars react to losing the Daytona 500

DAYTONA BEACH — For every driver that leaves the Daytona 500 jovial and fulfilled, there's 39 others that make the long trek to Atlanta full of heartbreak, disappointment and what ifs.

William Byron emerged as the winner of the Great American Race on Monday and there were plenty that were oh-so-close or collected in crashes not necessarily of their own doing. Such is the beast when it comes to the Super Bowl of NASCAR.

Several of those wheelmen took to X after the smoke had settled Monday night to vent frustration, anger or, in some cases, appreciation for their teams and the effort that made the race possible.
