Damar Hamlin sends Bronny James well wishes as Elon Musk erroneously blames vaccines

Support for Bronny James and his family came from expected and unexpected sources after word of his suffering cardiac arrest on Monday.

LeBron James’ oldest son was rushed to the hospital after suffering cardiac arrest during a workout at USC’s Galen Center, according to a report from TMZ Sports.

It didn’t take long for some to issue well wishes to James and his family.

Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin, who suffered his own cardiac incident this past January under the glare of the national spotlight against the Cincinnati Bengals, was among the first:

“Prayers to Bronny,” his message said.

Lakers luminary Earvin “Magic” Johnson also offered words of encouragement.

Cleveland Cavs guard Donovan Mitchell sent out a simple message via social media:

NFL Insider Josina Anderson also offered well wishes:

But of course, it’s the Internet and there is a dark, slimy underside. Elon Musk, the owner of X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, chimed in as well. He brought into question whether or not being vaccinated for COVID-19 would be a factor.

Such assertions by Musk gained more prominence with the Hamlin incident, but were debunked. Hamlin's cardiac incident was also tied to getting vaccinated, but it was argued against.
