Dallas Mavericks fully guarantee Reggie Bullock’s contract

Reggie Bullock will stay with the Dallas Mavericks for at least another year as a decision was made on his contract ahead of free agency.

Ahead of Wednesday night’s deadline, the Mavericks made the decision to fully guaranteed the final year of Bullock’s contract. The wing signed a three-year deal worth $30 million back in the summer of 2021. His final year, worth $10.5 million, wasn’t fully guaranteed and the team had the option to move on from him.

The 32-year-old Bullock struggled last season, averaging 7.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. He shot 40.9 percent from the field including 38 percent from deep.

The Mavericks struggled last year, missing the playoffs even after acquiring Kyrie Irving. However, they feel like they have a good mix including Bullock and are looking to go on a run similar to what they did back in 2021-22.

Bullock will enter his 11th season in the league this year and is one of a handful of former UNC basketball players in the league. He joins Harrison Barnes as players to remain with their team from last season on guaranteed deals ahead of free agency.
