DAILY NEWS ALL-AREA VOLLEYBALL: Meet the first, second and third teams

Feb. 8—The Daily News Fall Series concludes with volleyball.

Meet the first, second, and third teams below, in alphabetical order.

FIRST TEAM

Bella Austin, jr., Effingham, OH

Austin had the third-most kills in the area (290) and the fifth-most aces (58). She also had 20 blocks, 247 digs, and 16 assists for the regional champion Effingham Flaming Hearts.

TaNeal Einhorn, sr., Teutopolis, MB

Einhorn finished with an area-best 84 blocks. She also had 133 kills, 29 aces, 40 digs, and six assists for the Teutopolis Lady Shoes. Signed to Lake Land for volleyball.

Abbi Hatton, sr., St. Anthony, OH

Hatton finished with the fourth-most kills (278) and the ninth-most digs (294). She also had 37 aces, 44 blocks, and nine assists for the state-qualifying St. Anthony Bulldogs. She is making her first appearance on the Daily News Volleyball All-Area First Team and second overall after earning second-team honors as a junior. Signed to Eastern Illinois for softball.

Maddie Kibler, sr., St. Anthony, L

Kibler racked up an area-best 452 digs this season for the state-qualifying Bulldogs and was tied for ninth in aces (53). Kibler is one of two Daily News Defensive Players of the Year.

Ella Kinkelaar, sr., Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, S

Kinkelaar finished with an area-best 862 assists and was tied for first in aces (77). She also had 64 kills, 31 blocks, and 226 digs for the sectional champion Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Hatchets. Kinkelaar earned a spot on the Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association Class 1A All-State Second Team. Kinkelaar is making her second appearance on the Daily News All-Area Volleyball First Team and third overall after earning second-team honors as a sophomore. Signed to Lincoln Land for volleyball.

Halle Moomaw, sr., Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, MB

Moomaw finished with an area-best 365 kills, was tied for first in aces (77), and was second in blocks (82) for the sectional champion Hatchets. She earned a spot on the Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association Class 1A All-State First Team and was the National Trail Conference Most Valuable Player for a second successive season. Moomaw is one of two Daily News Players of the Year and is a two-time winner of the award. She is making her third appearance on the Daily News All-Area Volleyball First Team. Signed to Heartland for volleyball.

Kinley Quast, jr., Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, L

Quast finished with the sixth-most digs in the area (307) and was tied for sixth in aces (56) for the sectional champion Hatchets. The No. 15-ranked player in the Class of 2025, per Prep Dig, Quast earned a spot on the Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association Class 1A All-State First Team. She is one of two Daily News Defensive Players of the Year and is a two-time winner of the award. Quast is making her second appearance on the Daily News All-Area Volleyball First Team and third overall after earning third-team honors as a freshman.

Andrea Rudolphi, sr., St. Anthony, OH

Rudolphi finished with the fifth-most kills in the area (262). She also had 46 aces, 41 blocks, and 104 digs for the state-qualifying Bulldogs. Rudolphi is making her second appearance on the Daily News All-Area Volleyball First Team. Signed to Illinois Central for volleyball.

Gabby Vonderheide, sr., Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, OH

Vonderheide finished with the second-most kills in the area (297). She also had 33 aces, 12 blocks, 209 digs, and 12 assists for the sectional champion Hatchets. Vonderheide is making her third appearance on the Daily News All-Area Volleyball First Team. Signed to John A. Logan for volleyball.

Addie Wernsing, sr., St. Anthony, S

Wernsing finished with the second-most assists in the area (557). She also had five kills, 30 aces, and 118 digs for the state-qualifying Bulldogs. Wernsing is making her first appearance on the Daily News All-Area Volleyball First Team and second overall after earning second-team honors as a junior. Signed to Southwestern Illinois for volleyball and softball.

SECOND TEAM

Bria Beals, jr., Effingham, OH

Beals finished with the 10th-most kills in the area (196). She also had 29 aces, 24 blocks, 244 digs, and 11 assists for the regional champion Flaming Hearts.

Olivia Brummer, sr., Dieterich, OH

Brummer finished with the seventh-most kills in the area (258). She also had 32 aces, eight blocks, and 277 digs for the Dieterich Movin Maroons. Signed to Frontier for volleyball.

Brooke Cowger, sr., South Central, MB

Cowger finished with the seventh-most kills in the area (265). She also had 37 aces, 48 blocks, 93 digs, and five assists for the South Central Lady Cougars.

Emma Deters, sr., Teutopolis, OH

Deters finished tied for seventh in blocks (60). She also had 186 kills, 36 aces, 55 digs, and four assists for the Lady Shoes. Signed to Lake Land for volleyball.

Keidra Kuenstler, jr., North Clay, L

Kuenstler finished with the third-most digs in the area (345). She also tallied five kills, 23 aces, and five assists for the Lady Cardinals.

Addi Nuxoll, jr., St. Anthony, MB

Nuxoll finished with the third-most blocks in the area (78). She also had 135 kills, 26 aces, 265 digs, and three assists for the state-qualifying Bulldogs.

Claresa Ruholl, jr., Teutopolis, L

Ruholl finished with the second-most digs in the area (369). She also tallied two kills, three aces, and five assists for the Lady Shoes

Camdyn Tappendorf, sr., North Clay, S

Tappendorf finished with the third-most assists in the area (523) and tied for the third-most aces (59). She also tallied 150 kills, 26 blocks, and 146 digs for the Lady Cardinals. Signed to Rend Lake for volleyball.

Hannah Thompson, jr., Effingham, S

Thompson finished with the fifth-most assists (516) and was tied for sixth in aces (56). She also had 45 kills, 15 blocks, and 159 digs for the regional champion Flaming Hearts.

Paige Zumbahlen, sr., Newton, OH

Zumbahlen finished with the eighth-most kills in the area (234). She also had 25 aces, six blocks, 113 digs, and 15 assists for the Newton Lady Eagles.

THIRD TEAM

Elley Bennett, sr., Newton, L

Bennett finished with the fourth-most digs in the area (341) and the seventh-most aces (55) for the Lady Eagles. She also had four kills and 67 assists.

Samantha Craig, sr., North Clay, MB

Craig finished with 180 kills, 22 aces, 25 blocks, 88 digs, and five assists for the Lady Cardinals. Signed to Lincoln Trail for volleyball.

Bailee Frichtl, jr., Newton, OH

Frichtl finished with 140 kills, 42 aces, seven blocks, 111 digs, and 11 assists for the Lady Eagles.

Morgan Hance, sr., North Clay, OH

Hance finished with 164 kills, 23 aces, nine blocks, 136 digs, and four assists for the Lady Cardinals. Signed to Eastern Illinois for softball.

Cara Hatton, fr., St. Anthony, OH

Hatton finished with 146 kills, five aces, 47 blocks, 51 digs, and 40 assists for the state-qualifying Bulldogs.

Sara Niemerg, sr., Teutopolis, OH

Niemerg finished with 148 kills, 19 aces, 30 blocks, 152 digs, and four assists for the Lady Shoes. Signed to John A. Logan for volleyball.

Brooke Schafer, sr., Newton, S

Schafer finished with the eighth-most assists in the area (401). She also had 194 kills, 28 aces, 14 blocks, and 214 digs for the Lady Eagles.

Birgen Schlanser, jr., Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, L

Schlanser finished with the 10th-most digs in the area (289) for the Bobcats. She also had three kills and two assists.

Katelyn Shoemaker, sr., Cumberland, MB

Shoemaker finished with the fifth-most blocks in the area (64). She also had 169 kills, 40 aces, 164 digs, and 16 assists for the Cumberland Lady Pirates.

Stacie Vonderheide, sr., St. Anthony, S

Vonderheide finished with the sixth-most assists in the area (484). She also had three kills, 16 aces, and 170 digs for the state-qualifying Bulldogs.
