Curry returning to Warriors lineup Friday night

The Golden State Warriors will have star point guard Stephen Curry back for Friday night's home game versus the Atlanta Hawks.

Curry was cleared to return to practice on Wednesday after having his ailing right ankle re-evaluated Tuesday.

The 30-year-old Curry has missed the team's past six games, four of which have been losses. He suffered his latest injury in the opening minutes of a March 8 contest against the San Antonio Spurs.

Curry's return couldn't come at a better time for the Warriors.

Kevin Durant (ribs), Klay Thompson (hand) and Draymond Green (pelvic contusion) are all out. Without their four All-Stars, the Warriors were held to a season-low 75 points in Monday's loss against the Spurs.

The timetable for Durant and Thompson to return is further out, while Green originally said Monday night his injury was not serious and that he doesn't expect to miss time. Thompson was scheduled to be re-examined on Thursday.

Curry is averaging 26.3 points, 6.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game in 50 contests this season.

The Warriors are 53-18, 4 1/2 games back of the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference standings.
