Crystal Palace vs Liverpool | How long until kick-off?

What is the team news?

Crystal Palace:

Max Meyer could make his Crystal Palace debut in Monday's Premier League clash with Liverpool at Selhurst Park.

The summer signing from Schalke missed last weekend's 2-0 win at Fulham as he fought for full match fitness.

Boss Roy Hodgson has no injury concerns so can pick from strength to host Jurgen Klopp's men.

Provisional squad: Hennessey, Guaita, Speroni, Wan-Bissaka, Ward, Tomkins, Sakho, Kelly, Riedewald, Van Aanholt, Schlupp, Townsend, McArthur, Milivojevic, Kouyate, Meyer, Puncheon, Kaikai, Ayew, Zaha, Sorloth, Benteke

Liverpool:

Liverpool could bring Joel Matip and Fabinho into their squad for Monday's trip to Crystal Palace.

Defender Matip has not played for the club since March but is back in training after hip trouble and may feature on the bench, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez in place.

Fabinho is also pressing for his debut after failing to make the season opener against West Ham but Dejan Lovren and Cagliari-bound Ragnar Klavan are out.

Provisional squad: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Gomez, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Keita, Salah, Firmino, Mane, Karius, Clyne, Matip, Moreno, Henderson, Lallana, Fabinho, Sturridge, Shaqiri

What are the current standings?

What are they saying?

Roy Hodgson on Zaha's new deal:

"First of all it means any speculation around his future is quashed," said Hodgson of the 25-year-old Zaha.

"I think it's very, very good that a player of his ability has committed his long-term future to the club.

"We think very highly of him both as a person and a player, and he's got even a talismanic quality, being from this part of the world and starting his career at Crystal Palace.

"All of those things need to be factored in and we're delighted that he's decided now that this is where he wants to be.

"Because when you sign a contract of that length and magnitude, that's where you intend to be for the coming years.

"It gives the chairman (Steve Parish) and (sporting director) Doug Freedman a chance also to do some very serious planning about the future, and of course he's a player we'd like to plan around."

Starring role at Crystal Palace suits Wilfried Zaha more than bit part elsewhere

Jurgen Klopp:

"I said in a meeting to the boys if we are good everyone - not the supporters, but the journalists - are overly excited. Even LFC TV want to do constantly wonderful stories, but we have to work hard," he said.

"It's nice because it could be completely different and we do feel in a good moment. It's getting better and better but we are still in a process. We have to develop.

"We are not the best team in the world so there's a lot of space for us to improve in all different departments.

"Our supporters like the way we are doing it and that is very important."

What are the best odds?

  • Crystal Palace - 7/1

  • Liverpool - 2/5

  • Draw - 17/4

What's our prediction?

It's difficult to look past Liverpool, who swept past West Ham last week and have a fully-fit first XI. But this will be a tricky test against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. We think Liverpool victory by a goal. Crystal Palace 1 Liverpool 2.
