Christian Miller has already rewritten Florida's record books.

Now, he's ready to make history on the other side of the Florida-Georgia divide.

The Creekside High School senior and world under-18 record holder closed Wednesday's Fall Signing Day with a big-time move, signing with the University of Georgia in a ceremony inside the St. Johns County school's auditorium.

Miller, ranked by MileSplit as the nation's No. 1 track and field recruit in the 2024 class, donned all four caps in front of him -- Florida, Florida State, LSU and Georgia -- before finally revealing his Bulldogs gear.

"This is something I've been looking forward to ever since I ran my fastest time in my sophomore year, around 10.4," he said. "I've been looking forward to this moment, and the time I got to pull the hat, it was just an amazing feeling."

For Georgia, which won the NCAA men's national championship in men's track in 2018, Miller's signing represents the Bulldogs' latest triumph on the First Coast. They've dominated recent installments of the annual football series against the Gators and landed high-profile recruiting wins in the last five years in prospects like quarterback Carson Beck, a 2018 state champion at Mandarin.

Miller said he decided on Georgia shortly after his visit to LSU this fall.

"The culture in general around Athens really stood out to me, and I really wanted to go there and be a part of it," he said.

Miller is a three-time Florida High School Athletic Association individual track and field champion, twice in the 200-meter dash and once in the 100, with one year still to come. He won the Times-Union's All-First Coast boys track athlete of the year award in June.

During the summer, he surpassed the national high school junior record and the world age group record in the 100, running 10.06 at the USATF U18 outdoor national championships in Eugene, Ore. His mark ranks as the fourth-fastest wind-legal 100 ever for any American high school runner, with a year still to go.

Miller also won the 200 at the USATF U18 nationals, and set a wind-legal personal record of 20.51 in that event.

With his 10.06, Miller has already beaten the 10.21 that Stanton's Kendal Williams ran to win the 100 at the IAAF World Junior Championships in 2014.

For Miller, Athens is now less than a year away, and he's already planning to continue his meteoric rise on the north side of the Florida-Georgia line.

"[The goal is] definitely accomplishing the goal of breaking many records," he said. "Especially with the 4x1, they're going to have Micah Larry, Brody Buffington and Jehlani Gordon. I know once I get there, that 4x1 will be very, very detrimental [to the opposition] in the NCAA."
