Cooper Kupp injures ankle on final play, has ankle wrapped in locker room after loss to 49ers

The Los Angeles Rams were trying to get out of Sunday’s lopsided loss to the San Francisco 49ers without any major injuries, but Cooper Kupp went down with an injury on the final play of the game. After the loss, McVay revealed that Kupp suffered an ankle injury and he’s upset that he was in the game to begin with.

The Rams were trying to run the clock out to end the game instead of doing meaningless passing plays being down 31-14. But McVay would call a passing play on the final play that would result in a pass from Matthew Stafford to Kupp.

Kupp had his ankle rolled on and he would remain down on the field for a couple of minutes. The All-Pro wideout was seen with his ankle wrapped up after the game.

Given the state of the offense, the Rams can’t really afford to have Kupp miss significant time. There will likely be more updates on Kupp’s injury as the week progresses ahead of a Week 9 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
