Conrad Weiser's Emma Perkins named Berks Player of the Year in girls tennis for the fourth straight season

Nov. 7—Conrad Weiser senior Emma Perkins has been named the Player of the Year in girls tennis for the fourth straight season, the BCIAA announced Tuesday.

Perkins headlines the eight-member All-Berks team, as voted by the league's coaches.

Exeter's Michael Herman, who led the Eagles to the Berks championship and a 15-3 record, was named Coach of the Year.

Perkins became just the third player in Berks girls tennis history to win four straight BCIAA Flight 1 singles titles, joining Wyomissing's Martha Blakely (2004-07) and Wilson's Cara Wirth (2008-11).

She won the District 3 Class 2A singles title and finished second in the state in Class 2A singles.

The PIAA medal was her fourth after she won three in doubles. She won gold in 2020 with Alex Pancu, and silver medals with Michelle Timothy in 2021 and Victoria Waltz last year.

Hamburg junior Mia Gassert is on the All-Berks team for the third straight season.

Exeter's Hansika Kunduru is a repeat selection, and one of two picks from the Eagles. She is joined on the All-Berks team by sophomore Myah Marturano.

Rounding out the team are Reading High senior Hailey Guerrero, Fleetwood sophomore Erin Sonon, Wilson sophomore Jin Lin Chen and Berks Catholic junior Sarah Schnatz.
