All-conference teams released for GPAC and NSIC conferences

Dakota Wesleyan University's Adam DeJong of Watertown and four Northern State University players received all-conference football honors on Wednesday.

DeJong, a redshirt senior defensive back, received second-team honors on the All-Great Plains Athletic Conference team.

He started all of the team's 11 games and recorded 24 solo tackles and 23 assists to go along with two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and two interceptions for a DWU team that went 6-5 overall and 5-5 in the GPAC this fall.

DeJong pushed his career total to 11 interceptions. He earned All-GPAC first team and NAIA All-American honors as a junior.

Northern State Honorees

Graduate players Dewaylon Ingram, Dakota Larson and Ian Marshall earned earned first-team All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference honors and redshirt junior Trey King made the second team for a NSU team that went 5-6 overall and 4-6 in the NSIC.

Ingram, a wide receiver from Carthage (Texas), finished the season with 70 receptions for 1,220 yards and 11 touchdowns and Larson, a wide receiver from Spring Creek (Nev.), added 65 receptions for 965 yards and six touchdowns. They both made the All-NSIC first team offense.

Mitchell earned first-team All-NSIC defense honors. The Springfield (Mo.) native made nine solo tackles and 12 assists, including 6.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 quarterback sacks.

King, a linebacker from Irene, made the All-NSIC second team defense. He had 43 solo tackles and 33 assists, 14.5 tackles for a loss, two quarterback sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
