Columbus Clippers split doubleheader with Louisville Bats
Friday's games: Columbus 5, Louisville 4; Louisville 2, Columbus 0
Recap: The Clippers and Bats split a doubleheader. Columbus won the first game when Bryan Lavastida tripled home Daniel Schneemann in the eighth inning. Anthony Gose (1-0) pitched the final two innings to get the win. Center fielder Myles Straw was 3 for 4 for the Clippers. In the second game, each team managed only three hits. The Bats scored both of their runs in the sixth inning on a single by Michael Trautwein and a sacrifice fly by P.J. Higgins. Kyle Manzardo had two of Columbus' three hits. Clippers starter Connor Gillispie allowed one hit and struck out nine in five shutout innings.
