Colts vs. Panthers final injury report, betting odds, TV, streaming

The Indianapolis Colts visit the Carolina Panthers in NFL Week 9 action.

The Colts (3-5) have lost three straight games, all in shootout fashion. Indianapolis has moved the ball well in those games, but have committed 9 turnovers along the way. Opposing quarterbacks have taken advantage of the Colts' inexperienced cornerbacks.

The Panthers (1-6) are coming off their first win of the season, a last-second, 15-13 decision against the Houston Texans. Top overall draft pick Bryce Young had his most efficient game yet, hitting on 71% of his passes for 235 yards and a touchdown.

NFL Week 9 picks: There's little faith in the Colts

Tom Pelissero, NFL.com, Colts 22-18: I rolled the dice on the Colts in Week 8 and got burned, but I can't resist doing it again. As I wrote last week, Gardner Minshew has been a turnover and touchdown machine. Bryce Young has cut down on the TOs for Carolina, but he's also been short on TDs. In the end, I'm convinced by Indy's advantage on the ground, with Jonathan Taylor and Zack Moss capable of carrying the day against the 29th-ranked rushing defense.

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports, Panthers 23-20: The Panthers got their first victory last week with the offense showing some life late to get the game-winning field goal. That should carry over against a Colts defense that has had major issues the past two weeks. The Colts are inconsistent on offense with Gardner Minshew, which plays out here too. The Panthers get their second victory.

Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk, Panthers 16-13: Frank Reich will relish his chance to stick it to Jim Irsay.

Sheil Kapadia, The Ringer, Panthers cover the spread: The Colts have given up 37 points or more in three straight games — all losses. But they continue to move the ball on offense. The Panthers are a limited team, but I don’t think they’re quite as bad as the 0-6 start suggested. Give me the home dog.

Brett Sobleski, Bleacher Report, likes the Panthers: Indianapolis' uninspiring group of defensive backs is more than enough to take the spread and the Panthers outright.

Colts vs. Panthers storylines

∎ Panthers coach Frank Reich coached the Colts 4+ seasons before being fired midway through last season.

∎ The Colts are unexpectedly strong offensively (No. 6 in the NFL in scoring, 25.6 points per game; No. 8 in total offense, 362.4 yards) and unexpectedly weak defensively (last in scoring, 28.6; No. 28 in total defense, 371.3 yards). They are the only NFL team to score at least 20 points in every game, but they have allowed 37, 39 and 38 points in their past three games.

∎ Colts opponents average 4.6 penalties (3rd fewest) for 41.4 yards (6th fewest) per game.

∎ Carolina struggles defensively (No. 30 as opponents score 28.4 points per game; No. 31 in the red zone as opponents score TDs on 77% of their trips). Playing mostly from behind, the Panthers pass 64% of the time (4th most) but gain just 5.0 yards per dropback (No. 32).
