Colts promote Adongo, Nixon, sign Pendleton, Hughes

The Indianapolis Colts promoted outside linebacker Daniel Adongo and offensive tackle Xavier Nixon from the practice squad to the active roster.

They agreed to terms with fullback Robert Hughes and defensive tackle Jeris Pendleton, who will be signed to the practice squad. The team placed inside linebacker Mario Harvey and running back Daniel “Boom” Herron on injured reserve.

Prior to joining the Colts, Adongo most recently played for the Southern Kings of Super 15 Rugby, the highest level of pro rugby in the world.

Nixon was originally signed to the Colts active roster off the Washington Redskins practice squad.

Hughes rejoins the Colts after being waived by the team in October. He played in one game this season, catching one pass for six yards. He also played in five games (one start) with the Colts in 2012 and recorded one rush for five yards and one reception for three yards. H

Pendleton was originally selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the seventh round last year. He played in four games and made one solo tackle in 2012 before being released by the Jaguars on May 22, 2013. He then signed with the Dallas Cowboys on June 12 and was released on August 26.

Harvey played in all 12 games this season and totaled 11 tackles and eight special teams stops. In two years with the Colts, he has appeared in 25 games, making 15 tackles (13 solo) and 15 special teams tackles.

Herron was signed by the Colts from the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad on October 9, 2013. In six games this season, he recorded five rushes for 33 yards and one reception for 57 yards. He also contributed with six special teams tackles.
