Colorado women’s basketball gives Pac-12 yet another NCAA Tournament win

The Colorado Buffaloes are representing the Pac-12 in the conference’s final NCAA Tournaments, men and women. Colorado and Arizona are the only Pac-12 schools with a team in both tournaments, not just one.

The women won their first game on Friday against Drake, advancing to play Kansas State.

Buffaloes Wire has more:

“Friday marked the first time in school history that both Colorado basketball teams played an NCAA Tournament game on the same day. Buffs fans were treated to two first-round March Madness wins as the men upset Florida and the women took care of Drake, 86-72

“No. 5 seed Colorado took No. 12 Drake’s best shot early as the Bulldogs scored the first nine points of the game, but the Buffaloes took control midway through the first quarter and never relinquished the lead after that point. The Buffs showed glimpses of their early-season capabilities and they should make noise in the Albany 2 Region if they can consistently play at that level.”
