Colorado vs. LSU women’s basketball: Broadcast info, players to watch, injury report
Both the Colorado men’s and women’s basketball teams begin their 2023-24 season on Monday evening with high expectations and talented rosters.
The women’s squad made a magical run to the Sweet 16 last March and the Buffs, who are ranked No. 18 in the coaches poll, are now ready to begin their new season with an opening night game against No. 1 LSU in Las Vegas as part of the Naismith Hall of Fame series. The defending national champion Tigers returned most of their team from last season and also added a few key pieces.
Colorado’s core from last season is also intact, though, and head coach JR Payne added two impact transfers in guards Maddie Nolan and Sara-Rose Smith as well.

Colorado players to watch
G Jaylyn Sherrod is the emotional leader of the team and was nominated for both the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year award and the Naismith Player of the Year award.
F Quay Miller was nominated for both the Katrina McClain Power Forward of the Year award and the Naismith Player of the Year award.
G Maddie Nolan is a Michigan transfer who brings excellent 3-point shooting and leadership.
LSU players to watch
C Angel Reese is the reigning Final Four Most Outstanding Player and is an All-American looking to lead LSU to another national championship.
G Hailey Van Lith transferred to LSU from Louisville, where she averaged 19.7 points per game.
G Aneesah Morrow transferred in from DePaul, where she was the Tamika Catchings National Freshman Player of the Year in 2021-22.
