Colorado State women's basketball team lands All-Big East transfer from Creighton

A multiple time all-conference player from an NCAA Tournament team in the Big East is headed to Colorado State.

It's a new player with an excellent resume, but a familiar last name for CSU women's basketball fans.

Emma Ronsiek has committed to join the Rams for her final season of college, announcing her decision on social media Monday. She's the older sister of CSU guard Hannah Ronsiek.

“I chose Colorado State because playing with my sister Hannah has always been a dream of ours,” Emma Ronsiek said in a news release. “I want to thank Coach (Ryun) Williams and the rest of the staff for making that dream come true.”

Emma was First-Team All-Big East in 2023-24 as she helped Creighton earn a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament, where the Bluejays advanced to the second round.

She was a starter on Creighton's Elite Eight team in 2021-22. Creighton made the NCAA Tournament each of the last three seasons with Ronsiek playing a key role in each.

The 6-foot-1 Ronsiek averaged 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists last season. For her four-year career at Creighton, Ronsiek played 115 games and started 109 of them. She averaged 14.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Ronsiek was on the Big East's All-Freshman team in 2020-21, First-Team as a sophomore, honorable mention as a junior before First-Team Big East again as a senior.

She has one year of eligibility to play due to playing during the shortened COVID season. She was on a recruiting visit at CSU this past weekend.

Hannah Ronsiek just completed her sophomore season with the Rams. The 5-foot-11 guard averaged 8.5 points and six rebounds per game last season.

The Rams went 20-11 and didn't play in the postseason.
