College golf facilities: Illinois Fighting Illini

At the University of Illinois’ Demirjian Indoor and Lauritsen/Wohlers Outdoor training facilities, players can work on any aspect of their game, any time they want.

Indoor Features: The 16,000 square foot Demirjian Indoor facility opened in 2008 and features a team lounge, Hall of Champions, club repair room, locker rooms and coaches offices, six hitting bays for year-round practice and an impressive short game area. According to men’s coach Mike Small, players can hit anything from 40-yard pitches and four-yard chips to putts ranging from 3-80 feet. Don’t forget about the kitchen, aka, “Illini Fuel Station.”

Outdoor Features: The 24-acre Lauritsen/Wohlers Outdoor training facility features a complex short game practice area and multiple tees and fairways with the ability to emulate any situation. The 360-degree facility also allows the teams to practice in various wind conditions.
