College football: Notre Dame in pursuit of Big Ten receiver for 2023

Notre Dame still has a couple of roster spots open ahead of the 2023 season and they’re certainly testing the transfer portal waters in order to try and fill those.  Over the weekend we told you about safety Antonio Carter and Notre Dame’s pursuit of him.  Now there’s a Big Ten wide receiver the Irish are one of many potential suitors for.

6-4, 215-pound Keon Coleman of Michigan State recently entered the transfer portal and has been a hot name nationally.  Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Oklahoma, Oregon and Southern Cal are just a few of the teams that have reached out to Coleman.

Coleman, who played high school ball at Opelousas Catholic in Louisiana, was Michigan State’s leading receiver in 2022.  He hauled in 58 receptions for 798 yards and seven touchdowns.  In 2021 he caught seven passes for 50 yards and one score.

Coleman was rated as a four-star prospect in Michigan State’s 2021 recruiting class.  He chose Michigan State originally while holding offers from over 40 programs which included Georgia, Florida State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Southern Cal, and several others.
