Catching up with former Section 4 athletes competing at the next level:

Logan Haskell, Susquehanna Valley/Binghamton U.

The junior outfielder excelled in BU’s three-game stay in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

In a 3-2 win Sunday against Valparaiso, Haskell’s home run to lead off the eighth inning broke a 2-2 tie and completed a 2-for-4 day that included a double. He batted .500 for the weekend.

The Bearcats dropped a pair to top-ranked Wake Forest on Saturday, 7-5 and 9-8 – the latter requiring a Demon Deacons run in the last of the ninth. In Game 1, BU rallied from a 6-0 hole with two runs in the fourth and three in the sixth.

Against the nation’s No. 1, Haskell was a combined 2-for-4.

Caden Olmstead, Chenango Forks/Siena

The sophomore was recognized Monday as MAAC Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week as selected by the conference's sports information directors.

Olmstead leads the Saints in points with 19 on 14 goals and five assists. He had a collegiate-high three assists in an 11-9 victory against Le Moyne last Wednesday and followed with a collegiate-high five-point outing (three goals, two assists) in a 12-11 loss to Dartmouth.

In doing so, Olmstead secured his fourth hat trick of the season in five games. Accuracy has been an asset - a .500 shot percentage and .679 shot-on-goal percentage.

Kaety L’Amoreaux, Maine-Endwell/Fairfield U.

The freshman from Endwell continues to be a force for a record-setting group. She is the team’s third-leading scorer (10.2), third-leading 3-point maker (48), fourth-leading rebounder (4.2) and is third in assists.

In the most recent game, a 77-53 win at Manhattan, L’Amoreaux had 20 points, matching her season high, to go with six rebounds.

The Stags on Monday were assigned a No. 25 national ranking by the Associated Press, the first MAAC team to be ranked in over a decade. Fairfield (26-1) has set a single-season program record with 26 wins and its 26-1 record is the second-highest winning percentage in the nation behind undefeated South Carolina.

The Stags’ 24-game win streak is the second-longest active streak in the nation and was built against opponents from seven conferences including the Big Ten, Big East and Atlantic-10.

Xavier Hill, Johnson City/SUNY Oneonta

The junior forward was named to the first-team All-SUNYAC basketball team.

Hill became a starter during the second half of the season and made an immediate impact, averaging 13.5 points and 8.7 rebounds – the rebounding average No. 2 in the conference. He finished with 10 double-doubles and scored 20 or more points in seven games.

Hill scored a season-high 31 points in an 85-77 overtime win over New Paltz and had two 19-rebound games. His 226 rebounds in a season rank 10th all-time for Oneonta. He shot .440 percent from the field, .343 from three-point range.

Michael Mancini, Maine-Endwell/James Madison U.

The sophomore leadoff batter from Endwell – starter at second base in all 11 games - leads the Dukes with 14 runs, 10 walks and has made good on six of seven stolen-base attempts.

JMU (8-3) completed a sweep of Cornell on Sunday to improve to a 7-0 home-field record, best since the 2003 season.

In the Feb. 24 Mid-State Athletic Conference championship game, an 81-63 win against Jefferson CC, Johnson was MVP scoring 19 points and collecting 14 rebounds.

Jamie Lasda, Ithaca/Ohio State

The senior lacrosse captain had five goals and an assist in Ohio State’s 17-10 victory over Butler on Saturday. Lasda tops the Buckeyes with 22 goals this season. The game against Butler marked her fifth with at least five goals for Ohio State.

Lasda has 86 goals and 44 assists in 48 games for OSU. A season ago, she was second-team All-Big Ten and the team’s assist leader.
