Cobras win home opener 93-69

Nov. 25—Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute's Cincere Scott scored 26 points in his debut for the Cobras as Caldwell cruised to a 93-69 victory over Cleveland County Community College Tuesday night in Hudson.

It was the home opener for Caldwell as they improved to 4-0 on the season.

Cleveland led early, holding an 11-4 advantage. The Cobras chipped away at the margin to take their first lead at 20-18 with 10:32 remaining in the first half. After the Yetis tied the game at 20, the Cobras responded with a 15-1 run to take a 35-21 lead with 5:42 to play before halftime.

Cleveland closed the advantage to 44-34 at the half.

In the second half, the Yetis cut the Caldwell deficit to six points at 44-38 with 18:45 on the clock. Caldwell then slowly pulled away, getting their largest lead of 26 points at 91-65 with 1:43 left in the game on a basket by Chaundre Bratcher.

Saiquone Harris had 13 points and Pharrell Boyogueno scored 10 points for Caldwell as they swept the season home-and-home series with Cleveland. Shawn Wilson led the Yetis with 22 points. Jashawn Hawkins had 13 and Jadin Merritt had 10 points for Cleveland who fell to 2-5 on the season.

Caldwell will play in the Spartanburg Methodist College Classic this weekend in Spartanburg. The Cobras will play Wayne County Community College at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Indian River Community College at 1 p.m. Sunday. Caldwell returns home Wednesday to host Catawba Valley Community College at 7 p.m.
