Welcome to Hollywood!
What started as a sprawling ad for a housing development in 1923—originally reading “Hollywoodland”— has since become one of the most famous landmarks in the world, the giant white letters overlooking the entertainment mecca of Los Angeles.
The Hollywood Siign turns 100 in 2023, marking a century of the 45-foot tall, 36-foot wide letters welcoming the dreamers to the proverbial grandest stage.
And while the sign is something to behold from below, to see it up close is truly a site of marvel and wonderment.
