Clippers sign second-round pick Moussa Diabate to two-way contract
Former Michigan forward Moussa Diabate on Friday signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Law Murray of The Athletic.
Diabate, the 43rd pick in the NBA draft, was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team last season after averaging nine points and six rebounds in 32 games. He led the Wolverines in offensive rebounds (76) and was second in total rebounds (191).
The 20-year-old was limited to just two games with the Clippers in the Las Vegas Summer League due to an ankle injury. He averaged 9.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and one steal on 70% shooting from the field.
Diabate will split his time next season between L.A. and the Ontario Clippers in the NBA G League. He is eligible to spend no more than 50 games in the NBA and will earn a flat salary equal to 50% of the minimum salary applicable to a player with zero years of service.
The Clippers’ other two-way contract spot is not currently filled.
