Clemson sophomore wide receiver Ajou Ajou is in the transfer portal.

Ajou has appeared in all 12 games this season but has just six catches for 73 yards. He played a combined 114 snaps in midseason road games at Syracuse and Pitt but just 49 in five games since with just one reception, a 2-yarder in the regular-season finale at South Carolina.

That makes nine players who have left the Clemson team for the transfer portal during the season. Last week, it was wide receiver Frank Ladson and backup quarterback Taison Phommachanh. They joined running backs Lyn-J Dixon and Michel Dukes, defensive backs Joseph Charleston and Ray Thornton, linebacker Kane Patterson and offensive lineman Paul Tchio. Dixon has verbally committed to West Virginia and Dukes to South Florida.

Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables earlier this week became head coach at Oklahoma, offensive coordinator Tony Elliott head coach at Virginia and athletics director Dan Radakovich accepted the same position at Miami.

The Tigers (9-3) play Dec. 29 in the Cheez-It Bowl (5:45 p.m., ESPN) against Iowa State (7-5) in Orlando, Florida.
