Colerain has now won four of five since its 0-4 start to the season and may have clinched itself a spot in the Division I, Region 4 playoffs after blanking Hamilton. A Cardinals’ defense that was shredded early in the year has now allowed just three points over the last two games combined after turning its best effort of the season against the visiting Big Blue. Colerain allowed just 76 total yards and the defense supplied the game’s only second-half points when Nathan Frey returned a fumble 39 yards for a touchdown midway through the third quarter. Colerain had just 113 total yards offensively, but quarterback Zae Jennings converted in the redzone with a pair of short touchdown runs to put the Cardinals up double digits at the half.

• Oak Hills 13, Lakota East 10 - FINAL

Oak Hills went on the road Friday night and may have clinched a spot in the Division I, Region 4 playoffs with a narrow win. In a defensive struggle where both teams failed to eclipse 250 total offensive yards, Oak Hills took the lead for good in the second half when quarterback Jaxon Schreiber found Luke Barkley on a two-yard touchdown. Schreiber finished 16-of-22 for 147 yards and ran for 41 on 10 attempts. Demar Parker Jr. led the Highlanders with 53 yards on 18 attempts and a two-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter to open the game’s scoring. Lakota East was led by senior running back Eric Davis, who ran for 172 yards and a touchdown on 32 attempts for his sixth 100-yard performance of the season.

• Mason 30, Fairfield 7 - FINAL

Mason has its first win over a team with a winning record this season and did it in a big way, scoring 30 unanswered points to cruise past Fairfield. Talon Fisher opened the game with a 57-yard touchdown run to give the Indians a 7-0 lead, but Mason’s defense would allow less than 150 total yards the rest of the way. For the Comets, senior running back Nick Sailers had a second-straight big night, running for 154 yards and three touchdowns on 24 attempts. Sailers has now run for 292 yards and seven scores over the last two weeks combined. On special teams, Mason kicker Cole Bunch was 3-for-3 on field goals to help put the game out of reach in the second half. Mason’s defense forced three interceptions, two from Sean Krueckeberg and one from linebacker Jake Bates.

• Princeton 42, Sycamore 7 - FINAL

Princeton won their seventh game of the season by more than 20 points, using a 35 point second quarter to ground the Sycamore Aviators. Riley Woods had an incredibly efficient night on the ground, carrying the ball three times for 133 yards. That number was helped by two touchdowns of 77 and 35 yards. Thanks to 288 yards rushing, the Vikings tallied 400 total yards of offense. Sycamore was able to find the end zone at the start of the fourth quarter on a fumble recovery by Qi’Moni Dangerfield-Montgomery.

Eastern Cincinnati Conference

After back-to-back narrow contests, Kings returned to form Friday night at The Castle, calling off the dogs at halftime en route to a lopsided win over Little Miami. Knights’ quarterback Will Kocher finished 10-of-15 for 226 yards with touchdown tosses to Nate Lyman, Michael Mussari and Jake Cameron. On the ground, Jay Holubetz had 61 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown while Paul Kelly broke a 45-yard score late in the first half. The Knights’ defense held Little Miami to 3-of-11 on third down and forced three turnovers. Little Miami avoided a shutout when Grant Maupin found Jack Cooper for a 13-yard touchdown for the only second-half score. Panthers’ senior Brayden Bischoff led all receivers with five catches for 93 yards.

Milford survived a scare after traveling to West Clermont, coming back to win after trailing by as many as 20 points. Austin Hardin capped off a 170 yard, three touchdown night with a strike to Ashton Warther with nine minutes to go. Milford’s defense kept them in the game with three interceptions, one each from Will Reid, Jacob Smith and Rob Mickler. For West Clermont, Bryson Earley accounted for two touchdowns through the air and one on the ground. Chris Henry Jr. had the play of the night with a 67 yard catch and run to put give the Wolves a fourth quarter lead before the Eagles came back to win.

The Ben Schoster-Justin Re connection helped Elder remain perfect (4-0) at The Pit this season. Schoster ran for 78 yards and 107 of his 149 passing yards went to Re, including a 72-yard touchdown pass to tie the game in the first quarter. The duo connected again in the third quarter from 17 yards out to give Elder the lead for good. Luke Flowers led the Panthers’ rushing attack with 80 yards on 17 carries. Flowers’ 17-yard touchdown run with 6:51 left in regulation ultimately put the game away. Defensively, Elder held Bishop Chatard to just 223 total yards and 1.7 yards per carry.

One quarter away from its first win since August, the La Salle Lancers allow a comeback by Detroit Central Catholic to drop their seventh-straight contest. La Salle struck first in the second half, taking a 21-17 lead on a 44-yard touchdown from Patrick McLaughlin to Koy Beasley. The Lancers had also taken an early lead in the second quarter on a 38-yarder from McLaughlin to Beasley. Central Catholic's Jaden Pydyn gave the Shamrocks a late lead which was bolstered on their next drive from a rush by Spencer Lyons.

Braden BoBo's third rushing touchdown of the night and ensuing two-point conversion pass to Jay Dietz gave McNicholas a 29-28 late in the fourth quarter Friday night, but Chaminade Julienne had enough time to drive down the field and win the game on Donaven Cummings' second rushing score of the night with less than a minute remaining in regulation. BoBo and Chaminade Julienne quarterback Jonathan Peltier each ran for three touchdowns, but it was Eagles' running back Josiah Payne who couldn't be stopped, running for 250 yards on 32 carries.

A tied game after three quarters turned into a runaway win for the defending Division IV state champions as Clinton-Massie rolled to its fourth victory in five weeks. The Falcons did not complete a pass in the win but didn’t need to with a running game that churned out 360 yards on 64 attempts. Logan Chesser led the way with 132 yards and three touchdowns while Brody Clutter, Keegan Lamb and Gavan Hunter each surpassed 50 yards and a score. New Richmond stayed in the game behind quarterback A.J. Metzger, who threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns, both to Andrew Hawkins. Metzger added a team-high 76 rushing yards on 16 carries.

Riley Ferrin’s 24-yard field goal with three seconds left in regulation lifted Bellbrook to its eighth-straight win and an outright Southwestern Buckeye League-East division title. In a defensive slugfest, Bellbrook struck first early in the first quarter on a three-yard touchdown run by Elijah Brooks. Three quarters later, Monroe finally answered when Elijah Jackson ran for a three-yard touchdown of his own with 10:22 left in regulation to tie the game at 7-7. Monroe’s seven points is its fewest in a regular-season game since a 28-3 loss to Brookville in September 2020 (23 games).

After starting the year 2-3, Cooper has reeled off three straight wins, all while scoring more than 40 points. Cam O’Hara only needed 12 completions to throw for 344 yards and four touchdowns. The Jaguars also got four touchdowns on the ground; two from Eli White and one each from Cole Henry and Jack Lonaker. In their first shutout win of the year, Cooper’s defense held Boone County to 100 yards of total offense.

Demetrick Welch Jr. needed just seven touches in the first half Friday night to score four touchdowns as Newport Central Catholic ran away from Dayton early and coasted to its seventh consecutive win. Welch finished his night early with 98 yards from scrimmage (70 rushing, 28 receiving) and four touchdowns while Luke Runyon added 133 yards from scrimmage and two rushing scores on just six total touches. Newport Central Catholic’s defense held Dayton to just 144 total yards and forced three turnovers. The Thoroughbreds have now scored 40-plus points in five-straight games.

Walton-Verona’s defense was the story once again as the Bearcats extended their winning streak to four-straight with their second shutout of the year. The Bearcats surrendered just 95 total yards to Shawnee and have now held three of their last four opponents to eight points or less. Offensively, it was the Jackson Smith show. The junior quarterback accounted for each of the game’s four touchdowns, throwing for three and opening the game with a rushing score. Smith hit Geoffrey Kratzenberg for two touchdowns to give Walton-Verona a 21-0 halftime lead, then capped the scoring with a touchdown toss to Brett Wiethorn. Elsewhere, Braden Daniels led the Walton-Verona rushing attack with 110 yards on 11 attempts.

A 22-20 Newport lead after both squads had an explosive fourth quarter, Holy Cross chewed up over five minutes of clock in the fourth quarter to score a game-winning touchdown with just 36 seconds left in the game. Landyn Phillips kept the winning drive alive with an 11-yard rush on 4th and one. Three plays later Phillips caught a 13-yard pass from Donovan Ambrocio to take the lead. Newport got to the Holy Cross 29, but had an incompletion as time expired. Ambrocio threw three touchdowns and an interception on 10-19 passing with 178 yards. His Holy Cross counterpart Kyle Lee was 23-31 for 203 yards and a pair of scores. Ambrocio's target Devonte Ryan had four catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns.
