CIAC to play all eight state title soccer games at Dillon Stadium
Oct. 4—The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference, in conjunction with the Hartford Athletic of the United Soccer League, announced Monday that all eight boys' and girls' soccer state championships games will be at Dillon Stadium in Hartford.
Four title matches will be played on Saturday, Nov. 20, with the other four to follow on Sunday, Nov. 21. Times and dates will be determined after the championship game matchups are set.
Dillon Stadium hosted four games when the state tournament was last held in 2019.
"When we used Dillon Stadium for four state championship games in 2019, there was such a tremendous vibe," CIAC associated executive director Gregg Simon said in a release. "The kids come out of the locker room, into the tunnel, out on to the field, there's nothing quite like playing in a professional soccer stadium."
Added Joe Calafiore, senior vice president of marketing and strategy for Hartford Athletic: "Dillon Stadium has once again become a hub for our community and serves as the perfect jewel event venue for the state championships.
