Check out Region Five qualifiers for the Kentucky high school girls golf state tournament

The North Hardin High School girls golf team posted a 355 to take the title at Monday’s Region Five Championships at Heritage Hill Golf Club in Shepherdsville.

The Trojans and runner-up Central Hardin (378) earned spots in the first round of the state tournament set for next Monday at Kenton County Golf Courses in Independence. The final rounds of the state tournament are set for Oct. 3-4 at Bowling Green Country Club.

Meade County’s Peyton Bradley shot a 1-over-par 73 to take individual honors, finishing five shots ahead of Bullitt East’s Grace Shepherd (78). North Hardin’s Anna Mae Atcher was third with an 80.

The top 10 individuals not on one of the top two teams also earned spots in the first round of the state tournament. Joining Bradley and Shepherd will be Meade County’s Amelia Woodbridge (89), Elizabethtown’s Michaela Godfrey (92), Grayson County’s Natalie Garrett (94), Grayson County’s Amelia Newton (94), LaRue County’s Emma Abell (99), North Bullitt’s Evie Harbin (101), Central’s Kira Tudor (105) and Grayson County’s Alyssa Merrifield (105).
