Vanderbilt basketball starts its 2023-24 season against Presbyterian on Tuesday, looking to build off a 22-15 campaign under fifth-year coach Jerry Stackhouse.

The Commodores host the Blue Hose at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville following their quarterfinal exit in last season's NIT after falling short of an NCAA Tournament berth. The new-look team returns the guard duo of Tyrin Lawrence and Ezra Manjon from last season after losing key contributors Liam Robbins to graduation and Jordan Wright and Myles Stute to transfers to LSU and South Carolina, respectively.

Lawrence, who entered the transfer portal before the 2023-24 season but decided to return, averaged 13.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game on 50.2% shooting last season, while Manjon averaged 10.5 points with 3.8 assists per game. They'll be joined by transfers Notre Dame's Ven-Allen Lubin and South Dakota's Tasos Kametaros, Lehigh's Evan Taylor and Texas A&M's Jordan Williams.

Vanderbilt hasn't clinched a March Madness berth since 2017, and is hoping Stackhouse, a former NBA All-Star, can get it back.
