The NC State women's basketball program will begin its quest for a national championship Saturday when the No. 3-seeded Wolfpack host Chattanooga at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh.
The Pack is playing in its 29th NCAA Tournament, making a seventh straight appearance and hosting for the fourth time under coach Wes Moore. Its Round-of-64 opponent, 14th-seeded Chattanooga, is where Moore coached before coming to NC State. He still holds the most career wins of any coach in Mocs history (358-113) after leading the squad to nine NCAA Tournament berths in his 15 seasons (1998-2013).
Chattanooga has a 28-4 record this season, going 13-1 in Southern Conference games and winning its 20th SoCon Tournament championship behind MVP Jada Guinn (19.7 ppg, 6.9 rpg).
NC State (27-6) spent most of the season highly ranked, going all the way up to No. 3 and reaching the ACC championship game where it fell to Notre Dame.

The winner between NC State and Chattanooga will face the winner between No. 11 Green Bay and No. 6 Tennessee, who play earlier Saturday at Reynolds (noon, ESPN).
Raleigh's second-round game will be played Monday (7:30 p.m., ESPN).
