What channel is Mets vs. Cardinals game tonight? How to watch, stream Friday on Apple TV+

NEW YORK — After a monthlong build-up and shutdown due to back tightness, Mets fans will finally get the chance to see J.D. Martinez debut for the team on Friday night.

Martinez's first game as a member of the Mets will come when they open their three-game series with Cardinals at 7:10 p.m. at Citi Field. Fans will be able to find the game on Apple TV+ rather than the usual SNY broadcast.

The Mets are coming off a California road trip during which they went 3-3 against the Dodgers and Giants. They stand at 13-11 on the season, while welcoming in the Cardinals, who have the worst mark in the National League Central at 11-4.

New York Mets third baseman Brett Baty (22) celebrates after hitting a pinch hit 3 run home run in the eighth inning against the Milwaukee Brewers on March 30, 2024, at Citi Field.

Martinez flashed the type of impact he can have during his two-game stint with Triple-A Syracuse, which concluded on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old designated hitter was 3-for-8 with a double, run and three RBI in his two games up north.

Mets right-hander Jose Butto (0-0, 0.75) is scheduled to face off against the Cards' Miles Mikolas (1-2, 5.82) on Friday night.

The Mets will only be featured one more time on Apple TV+ over the course of the season, with that matchup coming against the Astros at Citi Field on June 28.

For those who do not subscribe to Apple TV+, the site is currently offering a free trial with the requirement of an Apple ID or email.
