What channel is Kentucky baseball in Lexington Regional on today? NCAA tournament time, TV

LEXINGTON — Kentucky baseball made more history Saturday. Thanks to its 6-1 win over Illinois, coupled with Friday's 10-8 victory against Western Michigan, UK won its first two games in an NCAA Tournament regional for the first time since the event's current format was adopted in 1999, which marked the first year of super regionals.

After losing the second regional game in each of his first two NCAA appearances (2017 and 2023) as Kentucky's coach, on the heels of wins in the tournament openers those years, Nick Mingione wasn't sure what to do with himself following Saturday's victory.

"Just another thing that we haven't done before. Still, obviously, have a lot of baseball left," he said. "But, yes, (it's a) monkey off my back. It is gone."

With no game until Sunday evening, Mingione said he'll use time earlier in the day to study. First, the Bible. Then, Illinois and Indiana State, his two potential foes Sunday. He'll rewatch film from Saturday's win over the Fighting Illini. And break down more video of the Sycamores.

As for the players?

Mingione said the Wildcats "won't have a wake-up call" Sunday. Before arriving at the stadium, their primary responsibility is to stay hydrated.

"They'll start showing up to the ballpark usually around 1 (p.m.), and they just hang out. … I walked in there (earlier Saturday), they had four different baseball games on the big screens in the locker room. They're just watching baseball," Mingione said. "They are like baseball rats."
