Florida softball did not let up its hot streak to enter the NCAA Tournament postseason during the Gainesville Regional.
The No. 4 seed Gators (49-12) have won 11 straight games after sweeping FGCU and South Alabama (twice) over three games in the regional. Now Florida will prepare for unseeded Baylor, which knocked off host Louisiana in the Lafayette Regional to advance to the Gainesville Super Regional. The first game of the best two-out-of-three series is scheduled for noon EST Friday at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

After capturing its sixth SEC Tournament championship, Florida opened the Gainesville Regional with a 5-0 win over FGCU. The Gators then run-ruled the Lions 9-1 in five innings on Saturday and Sunday to win the regional easily. Florida's last loss came on April 27, an 11-6 loss to rival Georgia. The Gators have made the WCWS each of the previous five times they have won the SEC Tournament.
Baylor opened the Lafayette Regional with a 3-1 victory over Ole Miss. The Bears defeated host Louisiana 8-0 on Saturday and then dropped the opener of the championship game 13-0, forcing the "if necessary game." Aliyah Binford got the game-winning hit for Baylor in the fifth inning of a 4-3 win over the Ragin' Cajuns for the team to advance to its Super Regional since 2017. The Bears have made the WCWS in their last three super-regional appearances.
