The No. 25 Buffaloes upset then-No. 17 TCU 45-42 last weekend on the road in Sanders' first game as Colorado’s coach. Junior quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Sanders’ son who followed his dad from Jackson State, completed 38 of 47 passes for a program-record 510 yards and four touchdowns in his Colorado debut.
Other former Jackson State players now at Colorado include two-way star Travis Hunter, defensive back Shiloh Sanders (also Deion Sanders' son) and running back Sy'Veon Wilkerson and kicker Alejandro Mata.
Unlike Colorado, the Cornhuskers failed to prevail in their new head coach Matt Rhule’s program debut, falling to Minnesota 13-10 in their season opener.
