Coming off a stunning loss in its 2023 season opener at Louisiana-Monroe, Army football looks to pick up a win this week in West Point, with a home opener against Delaware State.
The Black Knights squandered a 10-point lead with six minutes left in the game at Monroe, falling 17-13 after giving up five turnovers and settling for field goals on two trips into the red zone.
“It's disappointing,’’ Army coach Jeff Monken said. “I'm disappointed for our players. I know they're hurting – we all are – but we’ve got to regroup, we’ve got to do a good job coaching these guys this week, improve and get ready for the next game.’’
