The Crimson Tide (37-18) fell 3-2 in the series opener on Friday night with Tennessee scoring three unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to claim victory. Alabama bounced back for a 3-2 win of its own on Sunday night in 14 innings.

It is the second meeting this season between Alabama and Tennessee. The Lady Vols traveled to Rhoads Stadium in April, taking the first two games against the Crimson Tide, 5-0, 2-0, to take the series. The Crimson Tide won the series finale 1-0 to avoid the sweep.
The winner of the Knoxville Super Regional will punch a ticket to the Women's College World Series. Alabama is looking to make its second-straight trip to the Women's College World Series and 15th in program history.
