Central boys basketball coach Rocky Feliciano takes position with Gail Borden County

Former Central boys basketball coach Rocky Feliciano is taking the position as the head basketball coach at Gail Borden County he announced Friday on Facebook.

Feliciano joined the Bobcats staff as an assistant coach in 2022 and took over as head coach in 2023 helping lead the program to a 25-12 record and third seed in District 2-6A.

"I know there’s been a lot of people asking where I’m heading and why and all the questions that have come my way, and I want to share that on here," Feliciano said on Facebook. "... I feel I have definitely planted my seeds here in San Angelo and know that I now get to do the same in Borden County."

Feliciano also led the Bobcats to their first playoff win since 2011-12 beating El Paso Franklin 73-65. He joins a Borden County program that finished first in District 6-1A with a 21-7 overall record. The Coyotes lost in the second round of the playoffs to Whitharral 55-47 this past season.
