Celtics Twitter reacts to Jayson Tatum’s buzzer-beater vs. the Brooklyn Nets in Game 1
If TD Garden has been louder than it was as Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum sealed the Celtics’ 115 – 114 win over the Brooklyn Nets, we certainly can’t recall it. But the play, which saw veteran point guard Marcus Smart pass up a contested shot for an open, slashing Tatum, caused a raucous eruption already piled onto the animated Garden crowd still not quite recovered from another game-saving play from Jaylen Brown just seconds earlier.
The reaction on the NBA’s unofficial social media outlet of Twitter was nearly as animated as the fans in the arena were, with Celtics analysts and fans alike having a happy meltdown as the timeclock expired with Boston on top by a point — and a game, in the series.
Let’s take a look at some of the better reactions to Tatum’s amazing shot.
WHAT A PLAY!

Celtics win it at the buzzer. On a layup! After a killer defensive possession!
And this was only Game 1.

What an instant classic. My goodness gracious. That ending was absolutely crazy.

Celtics dont call timeout and pull off one of the wildest tight-rope game winners you'll see all year. Celtics win a bloodbath 115-114 on a Jayson Tatum spinning layup.

That was the first game-winning buzzer beater in the playoffs at home in Celtics history.
This was the 358th home game in Celtics playoff history.
For a storied franchise that’s seen almost everything you can imagine, that was a first.

And there’s the difference in the Celtics team. Last year Marcus Smart would’ve taken that shot. Ime got him to buy in and be the Marcus smart everyone loved out of Ok State. BEAUTIFUL! Looking like a true PG again! That’s what made Him special!
