Celtics rule DPOY Marcus Smart out for Game 2 vs. Bucks
The Boston Celtics ruled Marcus Smart out late Tuesday for Game 2 of its Eastern Conference semifinals series against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The NBA's Defensive Player of the Year sustained a thigh contusion and shoulder stinger in Boston's Game 1 loss, but played through the injuries. Boston ruled him out for Tuesday citing a thigh contusion.
Coach Udoka says Marcus Smart’s injury doesn’t appear to be anything long-term: “With the three days off, we’re assuming he’ll be OK (for Game 3).”
