Celtics take 3-1 lead on Hawks, one win away from facing Sixers

While the Philadelphia 76ers are taking some much-needed time off before they get set for the Eastern Conference semifinals, their potential opponent in the next round is now one win closer to setting up the matchup.

The Boston Celtics defeated the Atlanta Hawks on the road on Sunday night 129-121 and they now have a 3-1 lead on the Hawks in the series. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 31 points and seven rebounds, Jaylen Brown also had 31 points, and Boston received double-digit scoring from six players overall.

The Celtics and Hawks will now head back to Boston for Game 5 on Tuesday where the Cs will look to wrap up the series and move on to face the Sixers.

For Philadelphia’s sake, they have to hope the Hawks can extend this series a bit longer. Considering the fact that Joel Embiid is dealing with a right knee sprain, it is important right now to give him as much rest as possible to get him ready for a potential series with the Celtics.
