Cardinals injury report: 2 rookie defensive starters sit out Wednesday

The Arizona Cardinals kicked off their final week of practice for the season on Wednesday to get ready to take on the Seattle Seahawks in the season finale. They released their first injury report of the week and it included a couple of rookie defensive starters.

Four players sat out on Wednesday and another four were limited.

The details are below.

Did not participate

LB Dennis Gardeck (knee), OL D.J. Humphries (knee), DL Dante Stills (knee), CB Garrett Williams (ankle)

Williams exited the game on Sunday against the Eagles and did not return. Stills hurt his knee in the game but was able to finish and was walking fine after the game was over. It would seem that his sitting out Wednesday is precautionary. Gardeck’s injury is new.

Humphries tore his ACL and will be placed on injured reserve this week.

Limited participation

S Andre Chachere (shoulder), LB Victor Dimukeje (foot), DL Leki Fotu (hand), DL Kevin Strong (knee)

Chachere, Dimukeje and Strong all have been getting treatment and have had practice reps managed over multiple weeks. All three had the same injuries last week but all played on Sunday.

Fotu is on injured reserve but was designated to return last week.
