Jake Paul and Conor McGregor are both looking to fight Canelo Alvarez in the future, but Alvarez does not seem interested in fighting either of them and instead seems to be trolling them.

Alvarez is currently at the peak of his career and has just secured a unanimous decision victory over Jermell Charlo, improving his overall record to 67-2-2 with 49 knockouts. During the fight, Alvarez managed to score a Round 7 knockdown and won almost every round on the scorecard, successfully defending his super middleweight belt against the undisputed junior middleweight champion.

During his post-fight interview after securing the belt against Charlo on Oct. 1, Alvarez said that "nobody can beat this version of Canelo."

Canelo to Jake Paul: 'Take it easy'

Jake Paul recently posted a picture on X (previously known as Twitter), featuring Alvarez, along with the caption, "It will happen." Paul defended his challenge to Alvarez by citing his elder brother, Logan Paul's, fight with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. According to Jake, it is now his turn to step up to the challenge and take on another boxing great.

Alvarez cautioned the enthusiastic YouTuber to "take it easy" in his challenge for a fight. Before his bout with Charlo, Alvarez was a guest on the Breakfast Club radio show to promote the fight. During the interview, he was questioned about the possibility of fighting Jake Paul in the future.

Alvarez joked that the “fight wouldn’t last long” against Jake Paul and he is focused on chasing other fights in his career. Alvarez said that if a fight were ever in the works with Paul, it would be a post-retirement bout.

“He (Paul) can do whatever he wants but I think it is not real boxing for my career to put a fight on my record with Jake Paul,” Alvarez said on the Breakfast Club.

Canelo, McGregor exchange jabs

Conor McGregor also took his digs at Alvarez and posted a clip of Mayweather's win over Alvarez in 2013, and captioned, “I landed more shots on Floyd than Canelo. I’d love another go.”

Alvarez joked that he only needed one hand to beat McGregor and wouldn't have to throw as many punches. McGregor did not seem pleased with Alvarez's jab, and called Alvarez an “uncooked chicken.”

McGregor is widely regarded as one of the best MMA and UFC fighters of all time. After completing his paperwork to return to the USADA testing pool in October 2023, McGregor's much-awaited comeback to the octagon is expected in early 2024.

McGregor has not fought in the Octagon since 2021, when he suffered a severe leg injury during his loss to Dustin Poirier. Although it is yet to be confirmed when he will return to fighting and who his opponent will be, there are rumors that Michael Chandler might be his potential opponent.
