Can Matt Breida fight through his injuries to shine against the Raiders?

Matt Breida splashed onto the scene with the 49ers in 2018. He showed awesome explosiveness in Kyle Shanahan’s offense. Unfortunately, the exciting runner has been limited by injury as of late. In fact, he’s only seen double-digit carries twice since Week 4. That said, Yahoo fantasy expert Brad Evans thinks Breida is a surefire RB2 in Week 9.

Breida has shown an exemplary toughness this season, fighting through injury and limited snaps to provide strong fantasy showings. Week 8 was a positive sign as well, where he got a team-high 16 carries against the Cardinals. Brad believes — in a bye-heavy week — Breida will once again receive the lion’s share of the action at RB.

Breida will carry his explosiveness — he’s accrued eight runs of 15+ yards this season — into a matchup Thursday against the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have allowed the seventh most fantasy points to opposing RBs and a whopping 5.10 yards per carry. Brad thinks owners can trot Breida out there confidently on Thursday.
