Cam Johnson has best shooting performance in Nets uniform
Former UNC wing Cameron Johnson had his best game in a Brooklyn Nets jersey on Sunday and almost eclipsed his season-high this season.
Johnson, who was acquired by the Nets in the blockbuster trade involving Kevin Durant, finished with 27 points on 10-of-15 from the field against the Atlanta Hawks. He also tied the game up with 7.3 seconds remaining, hitting one of his three 3s on the night.
Then it was Hawks’ guard Trey Young who hit a buzzer-beater to down the Nets, 129-127.
In five games since the trade, Johnson has been averaging 16.3 points per game and shooting 44.6 percent from the floor and 30 percent from three. His 13 shot attempts a game since arriving in Brooklyn would be a career-high.
He’s also averaging 3.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.4 steals per game since the trade.

Johnson missed 38 games earlier this season with a torn meniscus. In 14 games since his return, he has averaged 15.2 points per game while shooting 39.8 percent from three.
Last season, Johnson finished third in the NBA Sixth Man of the Year voting and fourth in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (42.5 percent).
After this season, Johnson will be a restricted free agent.
