Monarchs tops Week 3 Rankings
Mater Dei is the number one team for the second week as we enter the third full week of football in Southern California.
Here are the Californiapreps.com Week 3 rankings (prior week's rankings in parentheses).
1. Mater Dei (3-0) (1)
The Monarchs beat La Mirada on Friday 42-0. J.T. Daniels threw for 248 yards and had 3 touchdowns including one on the ground. Shakobe Harper had 70 rushing yards and a score. Cal commit Nikko Remigio had 152 receiving yards and 3 scores. They play Bergen Catholic of New Jersey on Saturday at Mission Viejo.
2. St. John Bosco (2-1) (2)
The Braves beat Chaminade 31-17. Re-Al Mitchell threw for 223 yards and a touchdown and added a rushing touchdown. Ohio State commit Jaiden Woodbey had a defensive touchdown on an interception. They play Dorsey at Mission Viejo on Saturday.
3. Corona Centennial (2-1) (3)
The Huskies beat Etiwanda 73-0. Arturo Herrera had 181 passing yards and 2 touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown. Thomas Kinslow had 99 rushing yards and a touchdown. Chris Venable had a receiving touchdown and an interception on defense. They host Narbonne on Friday.
4. Mission Viejo (3-0) (4)
The Diablos beat La Habra 42-27. Joey Yellen threw for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns. Akili Arnold had 165 rushing yards and 3 scores. They play at Long Beach Poly on Friday.
5. Long Beach Poly (2-0) (5)
The Jackrabbits had a bye. They host Mission Viejo on Friday.
6. Chaminade (2-1) (6)
The Eagles lost to St. John Bosco 31-17. Ryan Stevens threw for 225 yards and 2 touchdowns. Michael Wilson had 149 receiving yards and a touchdown. They host Bakersfield on Friday.
7. Rancho Cucamonga (2-0) (7)
The Cougars had a bye. They play at Bishop Amat on Friday.
8. Narbonne (2-1) (8)
The Gauchos beat Palos Verdes 34-15. Jalen Chatman threw for 262 yards and 2 scores and added 103 rushing yards and a touchdown. Jermar Jefferson had 139 rushing yards and a touchdown. They play at Corona Centennial on Friday.
9. Murrieta Valley (2-1) (9)
The Nighthawks beat Cajon 49-46. Hank Bachmeier threw for 252 yards and 4 touchdowns with 74 rushing yards and a score. Jordan Murry had 188 rushing yards and 2 scores. Marquis Spiker had 98 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. They play at San Clemente.
10. JSerra (3-0) (10)
The Lions beat Bishop Amat 59-35. Matt Robinson threw for 295 yards and 5 touchdowns. Al Fisher had 131 rushing yards and a touchdown. Tarik Luckett had 137 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. They play at Vista Murrieta on Friday.
