Cade McGee 9th-inning home run leads Texas Tech baseball to Big 12 tournament win over Texas

Cade McGee hit a go-head, two-run home run in the ninth inning to help Texas Tech baseball down Texas 6-4 in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament Tuesday night at Globe Life Field in Arlington.

The 10th-seeded Red Raiders (32-24) and third-seeded Longhorns were tied 4-4 through nine innings of play. Gavin Kash led off the top of the frame with a single and was moved over to second on a sacrifice bunt by Drew Woodcox. McGee, the next batter, launched a high-arching ball down the left field line that stayed fair and cleared the fence.

Josh Sanders pitched a perfect ninth inning, his second in relief, to pick up the victory on the mound.
