It was a busy Saturday for softball across RI. Here's what happened in all the games

Chariho 5, Cumberland 2

The Chargers’ offense rallied late, giving Adriana Jeannenot the support she needed in their 5-2 win over Cumberland.

Down 1-0 heading to the bottom of the fifth, Chariho got back-to-back triples by Jeannenot and Emma Kocab that sparked a three-run inning. After Cumberland’s Lacie Grenier homered in the sixth to cut the deficit in half, the Chargers put up two more on the board on a double by Jeannenot that scored Makayla Smith and Anna Tretton.

Jeannenot had a terrific day in the circle, giving up four hits and one earned run while striking out 10. She also went 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBI.

Grenier’s home run was the highlight for Cumberland and Olivia Sturtevant drove in the other run with squeeze bunt single in the second inning.

Smithfield 11, Bay View 4

The Sentinels scored eight runs in the first three innings and powered their way past the Bengals, 11-4.

Smithfield took advantage of Bay View miscues to the tune of three runs in the first, highlighted by a two-run single by Haley Ellis that saw a third run come home on an error. In the second inning, Skyla Oliveira drove home a pair and scored, along with Madeline Bose, off a double by Sophia Parrillo.

Bay View rallied in the sixth after a two-out error kept the inning going. Bella Waycott took advantage, driving in two runs with a single and scored on Gianna Paolino’s home run.

But Smithfield finished strong, taking advantage of a two-out Bay View error that kept their inning going. Oliveira and Lily Riggin drove home runs with RBI singles and pinch-runner Olivia Keene scored on an error, Bay View’s third of the inning.

Cranston West 8, Prout 5

The Falcons were quick to use Crusader miscues to their advantage when it mattered most in their 8-5 win.

Up 3-2, a pair of Prout errors allowed Cranston West to add an insurance run. The Falcons fed off the errors and added two ore on an RBI single by Emma Regine. In the sixth, Sophia Marella came up with a two-run single that proved very necessary after Prout’s Kelsea Flaherty hit a two-run homer.

East Greenwich 12, Moses Brown 0

Ava Fairbanks was dealing and the Avenger bats were cooking in a 12-0 win over the Quakers.

Fairbanks threw six inning of no-hit ball, striking out 12 while walking two. The offense gave Fairbanks plenty of support all afternoon, with Chloe Hartman and Brooke Fairbanks both hitting home runs in the win.

Hartman finished the game with three RBI, as did Teaghan Bristol. Brooke Fairbanks went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI and Margaret Neville had three hits and scored three runs.

East Providence 8, North Kingstown 3

Trinity Provencher’s home run sparked a five-run second inning that gave the Townies all the runs they needed in an 8-3 win over the Skippers.

Down 1-0, East Providence came up huge in the second. Sylvie Patterson scored the tying run on a fielder’s choice by Nethania Figueroa and Cassie Dulude followed with a two-run single that plated Mariana Pina and Figueroa to make it 3-1.

Provencher stepped up next and put an exclamation point on the inning with a two-run homer to left field. After NK scored one in the top of the third, Provencher came up big again with a two-run single that scored Pina and Figueroa.

It was a big day at the plate for Provencher, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI and one run. Figueroa scored three runs, Pina scored two and Dulude had two RBI in the win.

Julianna Bucci had a strong day at the plate for the Skippers, going 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Pilgrim 12, St. Raphael 2

The Patriots offense exploded out of the gate and didn’t stop until Skylar Hawes scored on an error in the fifth for a 12-2 walkoff win over the Saints.

Pilgrim put up nine runs in the first two innings. Audra McDonnell started things with a two-run single and three batters later, Grace Dombeck hit one of her own to make it 4-0.

In the second, the Patriots five runs on two St. Raphael errors, a bases-loaded walk, a fielder’s choice and a ground out.

The nine runs gave Dombeck plenty of wiggle room, but the sophomore was strong all afternoon. She threw all five innings, gave up six hits, two runs and struck out one to earn the win.

Samantha Superczynski and Ella Taylor drove in the two runs for the Saints.
